November 11th 2009, OPPD announced
another price increase proposal today of 4.9% for its residential customers due
to decreased usage and a cooler summer. For commercial customers such as retail
stores a 3.9% increase is proposed and for manufacturing and industrial
customers a 6.3% increase. The district has raised its rates in each of the past
several years, including a average 14.5 % in 2009.
The average installed solar air and
water heater rate increase in this same period is 0.0%. Projected rate increases
for installed systems is 0.0% for the next 15-20 years.

OPPD (Omaha Public Power District) announces a overall
increase in electrical rates of 14.6%! This rate increase will range from 11%
for residential users to 27.2% for industrial users. We have a wide array of
energy saving products, now is the time to start saving and making your own
power. Once you buy solar your rates never increase.

* Today August 21, 2008 Metropolitan Utilities District in
Omaha NE and utilities in surrounding areas are projecting 15% - 20% increase in
natural gas prices for the 2008 heating season.
With the current natural gas and energy price increases in
general now is the time to seriously consider solar air and water heating. Once
you install these systems the energy they produce will never go up. Payback
periods will short considerably over the next few years.

We have made the decision to closeout the SunCoast line of solar water
heaters. In an effort to encourage alternative energy manufacturing here in the
United States and North America we have decided to promote US and North American
made alternative energy products. The American Solar works solar water heaters
are assembled her in the United States and many of the parts and manufactured
here. The SolarSheet is made in Canada.

We are proud to announce that we have added YourSolarHome hot air collectors
/ circulators to our product line. Their is no better way to save on heating
cost! These units even work when the power is out! With a 7-8 year payback
period these units are impossible to beat for saving energy dollars.

We have some very exciting news coming shortly after the first of the year.
We will be greatly expanding our product line from just solar water heaters to

We are proud to announce that we are now a distributor for the Solar Roofs
line of flat plate collectors. These units are light weight and easy to install.
They are SRCC rated so the 30% tax credit is available! This brings the pay back
period down substantially.

American Solar Works announced their evacuated tube collectors are now SRCC
rated. This is great news as you can now receive a 30% federal tax credit! This
credit is good until December 31st 2007. Please write your Congressperson and
Senator and ask them to extend these credits into the future.

We are in the midst of installing solar radiant heating in our house that is
under construction. Radiant heat will be installed in the basement floor, the
upper floor and in the counter tops. Their will be no other heat in the house
besides a soapstone stove. We will be keeping this page as up to date as
possible during construction.

We have added American Solar Works evacuated tube water heaters to our line
up. We are very excited with this new addition. We currently have one unit in
stock for demonstration.
Over 50% of this unit is manufactured right here in the United States! Making
this unit unique among all the other evacuated tube heaters available. American
Solar Works is striving for 100% USA manufacture.
